Take%20the%20quiz:%20
What type of swimmer are you?

Breaststroker
You are a BREASTSTROKER! Congratulations you frog. You have one of the sexiest strokes and eventhough you go last in your lane during practice, you can beat up the other swimmers with your arm and leg strenght. You are very smart, and you pay attention when the coach talks. Although you are capable of swimming other strokes, you enjoy this one the most because you have a good sense of rhythm & speed which when put together results in one kick ass swimmer.

yah, hk was da bomb.

and so was japan.

and so was china.

i miss swimming...

Lament of the Swimmer:
A tale about the swimmer and all on the Swim Team
About every week day after school and the adventures
In the unusual facility of the Pool Area, so unlike the Grassy Fields.
Enter the locker room and shed of synthetic individuality,
In surrogate, the worn-torn battle gear: the Swim Suit
The Goggles, the Foam Buoy, the Silicone Cap,
The Plastic Paddles, the Kickboards, the Stretch Cords
As familiar to the swimmer's hands as the lines on that palm
And plodding with dread down to the Pool
And slowly, reluctantly but with attitude
Push the door in as the raw stench of chlorine slaps across my face.

In dismay, I listen to the Dictator's command
To line up for lactates, and my stomach drops out
The sprints he requires of me rip fear in my spirit
But I remember the advice from a hero of success
To never be afraid to work hard, to always give it my all
So with the numb shoulder, the grinding knee, the burning hip
I step up onto the high block and stare down
Twenty-five yards pulling and straining to teh max
And most importantly the countless yards of victory
If only I try.
So the best I give it.

Arms flying forward and legs flexing, arching for a streamlined dive
Splitting the angry water swallowing me and holding me back
I fight to break the surface and ride the grasping waves
Every tendon and muscle fiber threaten to give out
My lungs ache and in my agony I scream in desperation
He can't tell me what to do! This is it, STOP!
But I keep swimming, enduring the self-induced torment
Until the last stroke stretching despite sickly chords sticking out on my neck
I grab hold of the Wall and suck in air, air like a rebirth
I do not hear the score, nor do I care, only that I tried my hardest.

Returning home in my great exhaustion
I know my typical late-night lucubration is made impossible
So as I hit the bed, my muscles relax, my mind races for rest
And spiral deep into Shaper's dreams
Dreams of future in great and glorious victories.

yah, i miss it.
